Exclusive: ‘Smallville’ heroine Kristin Kreuk joins ‘Chuck’ Sep
02
2009

If I didn’t know better I’d say Chuck’s got a thing for Superman.

On the heels of Brandon Routh’s casting as a love interest for Sarah comes word that Smallville vet Kristin Kreuk is joining Chuck for multiple episodes as Hannah, a girl Chuck meets on a flight to Paris. “Chuck and Hannah definitely have feelings for each other,” teases an insider.

Laid off from her glamorous publishing job, Hannah ends up working at the Buy More. (I’m sure that won’t prove distracting to the horny nerd herders at all!)

This marks Kreuk’s first major TV gig since leaving Smallville. SOURCE

ECOLLYWOOD: Kristin Kreuk and Alexandra Paul Jul

Kristin Kreuk: Hi, it’s Kristin Kreuk, and my green tip is to use cloth bags. I think it’s really beneficial.

Alexandra Paul: Hi, I’m Alexandra Paul, and here’s my green tip of the day: If you are going to go out and buy something, first ask yourself, do you need it? Do you really need it? And secondly, if you feel like you don’t really need it, but hey, you really want it? Really look and see if you really want it. And the third question to ask yourself, ‘Is it really going to make my life better?’ And after that? Maybe you won’t really buy that thing.

Kristin Kreuk and Friends Create Holistic Teen Retreat May
08
2009

The world has a funny way of supporting good things. That’s what Tamara Lelie and “Smallville” actress Kristin Kreuk concluded when their worlds collided in March 2007. Lelie and Kreuk met at a coffee shop and immediately bonded over their passion for empowering females.

“Kristin said ‘I like your earrings’ and we started chatting,” says Lelie. “I drove her home to avoid the paparazzi photographer lurking outside, and we’ve been friends ever since.”

That chance meeting culminated as Time out for Teens, a holistic overnight retreat for girls ages 14 to 17. It was a natural pairing of of Lelie’s Time Out Retreat and Kreuk’s Girls by Design, which she co-founded with “Smallville” co-worker, Kendra Voth. …READ THE REST HERE

LAKESHORE RECORDS TO RELEASE SOUNDTRACK FOR STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI

Original Music Composed by Stephen Endelman

(February 24, 2009- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI, available digitally (iTunes and Amazon Digital) on February 24th and in stores on March 3, 2009. Stephen Endelman (Home of the Brave, The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill, But Came Down A Mountain) composed the score.

English-born Stephen Endelman is a composer, arranger and producer. He moved to New York City in 1992 to develop his career in film music. His first score was for Nancy Savoca’s film Household Saints and then Robert DeNiro’s directorial Debut A Bronx Tale. Endelman’s wide-ranging works have spanned many styles from his minimalist, modern score for Flirting with Disaster to the rich orchestral tapestry for The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill, But Came Down a Mountain.

In addition to his film composing credits, Endelman has proved to be an expert arranger and producer. The 2004 film De-Lovely earned Grammy nominations for Best Soundtrack of the Year and Best Pop Male Vocal for Elvis Costello’s “Let’s Misbehave.” Endelman produced and arranged both the on-camera music and the Gold-certified soundtrack which held steady on Billboard’s Top 200 pop chart for over a year. In 2002 Endelman also received critical acclaim for Bride of the Wind, the story of Alma Mahler (wife of composer Gustav Mahler), for which Endelman served as composer and arranger. The soundtrack featured soprano Rene Fleming and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

Warriors converge on the streets of Bangkok, preparing for the ultimate battle of terror versus beauty, light versus darkness and good versus evil. STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI is the second live-action film based on the Street Fighter video game franchise. The film follows the story of Chun-Li (Kristin Kreuk from TV’s Smallville) in her quest for justice. The film also stars Meal McDonough as M. Bison, Chris Klein as Charlie, Michael Clarke Duncan as Balrog, and Black-Eyed Peas singer Taboo as Vega.

Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom present STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI released in theaters nationwide on February 27, 2009. STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on February 24th and in stores on March 3, 2009.

Kristin Kreuk: From Lana to Chun Li Feb
24
2009

We’ve known her as Lana Lang on “Smallville” for eight years but, with Lana and Clark now sadly parted and Kristin Kreuk’s last episode aired, the beautiful young actress is moving on. The Chinese/Danish star plays the title character in an action-packed film version of the mega-popular video game in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. One of Kristin’s major goals, as she continues and expands her career, is to empower young women, set a good example and tackle characters she is passionate about.

We sat down on the patio of her room at the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills where we must have looked very “Hollywood” in our sunglasses and Kristin in her cute, strapless, black-and-white stripe Nanette Lepore top and sleek pants. Our first impression of lovely Kristin was how great she looks in her new short-ish bobbed hairdo and, yes, again, another gorgeous young woman who doesn’t need make-up! Kristin was happy to let us know that she is super glad to get rid of her longer hair and all the extensions she had to wear to play Lana for so long. Let’s dish….

TeenHollywood: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is based on the famous video game so popular at arcades in the 1980′s. Are you a gamer at all?

Kristin: I’ve never been a gamer, but I’ve seen a lot of ‘Street Fighter’. It was really popular when I was in late elementary school into high school, so I’m very familiar with it. I’ve seen a lot of people play it.
