“A lot of tears” is what Kristin Kreuk promises when Lana Lang bids the CW’s Smallville (if not Smallville, Kansas) a final farewell. As the original cast member’s final three episodes unspool, TVGuide.com welcomed the chance to chat with Kreuk about Lana’s super secrets, her big-screen butt-kicking, and the change that she hopes to bring to the world one small step at a time. (Smallville airs Thursdays at 8 pm/ET.)
TVGuide.com: Word has it that Lana might have left town last spring under rather different circumstances than she led us to believe. True?
Kristin Kreuk: Very true. There’s a lot of stuff going on with Lana that nobody knows except for her. The audience will slowly begin to understand as my remaining episodes air. You’ll find out why she returned … and why she was gone in the first place.
TVGuide.com: On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the shock factor?
Kreuk: It’s Smallville, so I’d say a 7.5. Considering there are always weird creatures on the show…. [Laughs]

Street Fighter fans should start counting down the days to the release of “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” any day now. The movie hits theaters February 27.
The release date was moved up from March 2009, its original projected release date when production started.
Based on the popular video game, “Street Fighter” has an all-star cast. Michael Clarke Duncan, Kristin Kreuk, Chris Klein and Neal McDonough star in the film.
Rapper Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas also has a role in the film. This isn’t his first movie role, however. Taboo, whose real name is Jaime Luis Gomez, appeared in “Be Cool,” “Cosmic Radio,” and “Dirty.”
“Street Fighter” was filmed in several locations, including Reno, NV, Hong Kong, Vancouver, Bangkok and Herlong, CA.

After spending seven years in one evildoers clutches or another, Kristin Kreuk took some time off from “Smallville” to pursue other interests. Namely creating her very own philanthropic organization called Girls By Design, a social networking site that aims to empower teens and give them an outlet for their creativity.
As for Kristin it turns out that she couldn’t resist coming back to play Lana Lang, Clark Kent’s childhood sweetheart, one last time and wrap up her storyline once and for all. But will fans like how everything plays out, and is Lana really going to die? Read on to find out!
PopWrap: I know fans were thrilled you decided to come back, albeit for a short time, was it equally exciting for you to return?
Kristin Kreuk: I left during the strike so it was strange parting — coming back was really lovely. As was getting to take a storyline from beginning to end. In a five episode arc, I could see the beginning, middle and end of Lana’s journey and I could reach greater depth with it. We collectively found a way to make Lana’s parting really amazing and it was such a wonderful experience for me and “Smallville” hasn’t been that from the start. I came into this at 18, I’ve grown a lot.
